Astronauts Tom Stafford and Gene Cernan flew Gemini 9 on June 3-6, 1966. None of the major mission objectives could be achieved, which included dockings with a target vehicle and completion of several ambitious tasks during a spacewalk. The crew was able to test several rendezvous methods.
