"KING OF THE LOONS"

$215.00

Edition of 450 Size 16" x 20" unframed

Rare yellow-billed loon on nest taken at 2:00 a.m. in the midnight daylight of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in July.

Because it is two to three times larger than other loons at 12 to 14 pounds, the yellow-billed loon is often referred to as the king of the loons. Other than its large size and ivory colored bill, the markings of a yellow-billed loon are very similar to the common loon. It nests in lakes and ponds along the Arctic coast and is rarely observed by man.
