Aeroliner Race Boats, LLC is the culmination of over 68 years of Stock and Modified Outboard racing by Alan and David Van Weele. Alan purchased his first racing engine, a Mercury Mark 20H and a Speedliner Model 510 Corsair in 1955. David at first was Alan's pit crew until he purchased his first racing rig in 1959 which was a bath tub "A" Sid Craft and a Mercury KG4H.  The brothers often raced with the Eastern Outbard Racing Club on Long Island or with APBA in the Northeast venturing as far south as Hinton, West Virgina.

Both brothers are graduate engineers and grew up on the waters of the Great South Bay.  Alan's love of tinkering and trying to improve engine performance led to his acquiring a Mercury franchise on Long Island even though he held a full time engineering position with a major defense contractor.  When David was discharged from the service in 1965 he wanted a new Speedliner, which led to a nonstop drive from Long Island to St Joesph, MO to pick up the next to last wood Speedliner M510.  While at the factory the factory manager asked if we would be interested in purchasing the plans and pattens for the M510.  The purchase of these plans and pattens led to the actual creation of Aeroliner Boats.  In 2007 David had been retired from his engineering and surveying company needed something to keep himself busy, so by the end of 2007 begining of 2008 Aeroliner Race Boats, LLC was created with the intent of perpetuating the use of vintage Mercury racing engines and Speedliner racing boats. 

We started making a few parts that were no longer available from Mercury for the Mercury Quicksilver lower units in order to extend the life of these engines. Shortly there after we were contacted to see if we were interested in purchasing a good size collection of engines and Sid Craft boats and patterns to build the Sid Craft boats. We purchsed the offered items and then another large purchase from a closed Mercury Dealer was made.  With that purchase we started selling on Ebay and attending antique boat meets.  Many purchases later we are here today having sold over a hundred engines all over the world as well as thousands of parts.   We still race outboards with Alan's sons and grandaughter doing the driving.
